We are searching for a seasoned Senior Data Scientist to join our technology team at a pivotal moment. As the largest tyre wholesaler in the Nordics and Baltics, our data is the foundation of strategic decision-making across our multi-country operations. This is your chance to be a driving force in unlocking insights from our vast datasets, building predictive models, and developing data science solutions that will transform our purchasing, inventory, sales, and finance strategies for years to come. This role is a strategic hire fully backed by our executive team and will report into group CIO.
Data Science Strategy & Implementation
- Lead end-to-end data science initiatives from problem definition to production deployment
- Develop, implement and improve advanced analytics solutions for demand forecasting, pricing optimization, cross-sell recommendations, lead prioritization, customer churn, and customer segmentation
- Design and execute A/B testing frameworks to drive data-informed business decisions
- Translate complex analytical findings into actionable business recommendations
Technical Leadership & Collaboration
- Work closely with our data engineer and ERP developers to understand business data architecture and identify opportunities for data science applications
- Implement ML workflow orchestration using tools such as Kedro, MLflow, AWS SageMaker, or Azure ML
- Query and manipulate large datasets using MySQL, dbt, Athena, Iceberg, S3, or equivalent technologies
- Ensure models are scalable, maintainable, and production-ready in cloud environments
Business Impact & Strategy
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders from Procurement, Sales, Finance, and Logistics to identify and execute high-impact data science opportunities
- Apply commercial acumen to prioritize initiatives based on potential business value and feasibility
- Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and cross-functional teams
- Drive the adoption of data-driven decision making across the organisation
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics)
- 5+ years of data science experience, ideally in retail, wholesale, distribution, or e-commerce environments
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL, with experience in data science libraries and frameworks
- Proficiency in machine learning algorithms: linear regression, k-means clustering, random forest, gradient boosting, and others
- Experience with large-scale data processing using MySQL, DBT, Athena, Iceberg, S3, or equivalent tools
- Hands-on experience with ML workflow orchestration platforms (Kedro, MLflow, Airflow, AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, or similar)
- Proven track record working within cloud environments, preferably AWS or Azure
- Ability to independently lead data science projects with minimal supervision
- Proficient in English

Nice to Have
- Previous experience in consulting or private equity
- Experience working with ERP systems and understanding enterprise data structures
- Knowledge of tire wholesale, automotive parts distribution, or similar industries
- Familiarity with business intelligence tools and data visualization platforms
